TitleReferee's report by William Augustus Tilden, on a paper 'Some physical properties of nitric acid solutions' by Victor Herbert Veley and J J Manley
Date2 March 1901
DescriptionSectional Committee: Physics and Chemistry

Not recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. The authors have made some careful determinations of density and refractivity but the results establish nothing conclusively and do not represent a distinct step in the advancement of natural knowledge. The curves in part one are drawn very roughly and are unsuitable for reproduction in their present form. The results are set forth at great and unnecessary length. The results should be published in the Proceedings in a much abbreviated form. The curves of contraction, when redrawn, will express the general result clearly enough without the voluminous tables of figures.
