TitleReferee's report by John Wesley Judd, on a paper 'The geological structure of monzoni and the upper fassa' by Mrs Olgivie Gordon
Date12 July 1902
DescriptionSectional Committee: Geology

Not recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. Although it exhibits evidence of a large amount of patient and careful observation, the manner in which the author's conclusions are presented would not carry conviction to the mind of a reader. The conclusions are quite at variance with those published by previous observers and as written the paper does not help the reader to form a judgement on this matter. There is an absence of references to critical sections where the evidence for rival hypothesis can be compared. The sections and sketches are of such an indefinite character that they give little or no aid in forming a judgement whether the appearances presented are inconsistent or not with previous interpretations. The author's general ideas upon the subject have been made known by the publication of the abstract and the reproduction of the sections with the author's statements concerning her interpretation of them would do little in the way of supplying proof of the correctness of said interpretation.
