TitleReferee's report by William Cawthorne Unwin, on a paper 'Effects of strain on the crystalline structure of lead' by J C W Humphrey
Date28 June 1902
DescriptionSectional Committee: Physics and Chemistry

Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. It is a continuation and repetitious of the work of [James Alfred] Ewing, [Walter] Rosenhain and others, and it is rather difficult to discriminate what is actually new. The phenomena are on a larger scale and have in some respects an exactness not before attained. If published at all it should be in full. The photographic illustrations are rather numerous and the number might be reduced with no great disadvantage. There is some repetition of evidence. Some slight modification is necessary if all the illustrations are not published. No general remarks are given.

[Published in Philosophical Transactions A, 1903].
