The published wave-lengths of the are element scandium, are not sufficiently determined to justify the author's use of this element and many of the strong lines ascribed to scandium are due to ytterbium. Queries other observed lines and the identities ascribed to them. The form is annotated that these general remarks should be sent to the authors.
