TitleReferee's report by Charles Scott Sherrington, on a paper 'A trichomic case of colour blindness' by Frederick Eldridge-Green
Date26 April 1901
DescriptionSectional committee: not stated

The paper presents a point of some importance and interest; that the patient successfully passed examination in colour perception by two well recognised and widely employed tests for colour blindness, and yet was shown by the author's tests to be distinctly deficient in colour perception. Has no objection to the note being accepted for the Proceedings provided the author omit the use of the appellation 'trichomic'. This term is so little justified and misleading that he would urge the Society not to appear in any way to countenance its use. The removal of the term from the paper should be a sine qua non of publication.
