TitleReferee's report by Edward Waymouth Reid, on a paper 'Mechanical and electrical response in plants' by Jagadis Chunder Bose
Date[March 1904]
DescriptionSectional Committee: Botany and Physiology

Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. He considers it unnecessarily long and thinks the author should be requested to condense it to about one third its present length. A short but complete account of the previous literature of this subject with a corresponding bibliography should be added. The plant pictures should be retained but the majority of the curves should be replaced by short numerical tables. Figure one may be omitted as it is only a part of figure two, and figure three is superfluous. In general Reid thinks the paper important in that several new facts indicating similarity of action of vegetable and animal tissues are described. The style is however distinctly garrulous.
