TitleReferee's report by George Ballard Mathews, on a paper 'On the normal series satisfying linear differential equations' by E Cunningham
DateJanuary 1904
DescriptionSectional Committee: Mathematics

Recommended for publication in the Philosophical Transactions. It develops Dr Baker's symbolical method and shows that it is practical, as well as compact. He would prefer the retention of sections fifteen and seventeen because he finds particular examples of a method or theory very useful in providing clarity. These worked out cases afford a comparison with the solutions obtained by other methods and as the novelty of the paper partly consists in the appreciation of a particular mode of solution, some amount of detail is desirable.
