TitleLetter from Sidney Frederic Harmer, to Robert William Frederick Harrison, regarding three papers 'Experimental Studies in the Physiology of Heredity' by William Bateson, E R Saunders and Reginald Crundall Punnett, 'Experiments with Poulty' by C C Hurst, and 'Some Experiments on Wheat-breeding' by Rowland Harry Biffen
Date19 August 1904
DescriptionHarmer is extremely sorry to have to ask to be excused from reporting on the work which Harrison has referred to him. They are currently in the middle of the British Association week which leaves no time for anything else and he has promised, if possible, to report on a scientific collection by the end of summer. The only way he can do this is by devoting the whole of his spare time to it. He must reluctantly ask to be excused from reporting and send back the parcel of papers without opening it.

From what he knows of the authors and of their work, excepting Mr Hurst, whom he does not know, he should have no hesitation in saying that he thinks the work should be published.
