TitleReferee's report by Herbert Brereton Baker, on a paper 'The combination of hydrogen & oxygen in contact with hot surfaces' by Dr William Arthur Bone and R V Wheeler
DateNovember 1905
DescriptionSectional Committee: Physics and Chemistry

Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. In the experiments on silver Baker explains why it would be very desirable if an indication was given as to the purity of the metal. No analysis is given of the electrolytic gas prepared by Barium hydroxide. Since no ozone or hydrogen peroxide is produced, it is possible that their absence is due to precipitation of barium dioxide, which would cause a deficiency in oxygen in the mixed gases. All the illustrations should be reproduced.

The paper is a distinct advance on all previous papers on the subject and it appears well worthy of publication in the Transactions.
