TitleMemoranda from Robert William Frederick Harrison, and reply from Edwin Ray Lankester, on a paper 'On Two Orders of Arachinida Opiliones, especially the Suborder Cyphophthalmi' by H J Hansen and William Sorensen
Date29 May 1903
DescriptionSectional Committee: [Zoology]

Harrison states that the above paper which was communicated by the Thomas Roscoe Rede Stebbing, is being sent to Edwin Ray Lankester by registered post. Sir Michael Foster and the Chairman of the Zoological Committee have seen it, and would like Lankester's opinion on whether it ought to be published in Philosophical Transactions or whether it should be recommended to Council to offer a subsidy to the Linnean Society towards the cost of publication. Briefly estimates the cost of the publication at £200, including £65 for the nine plates.

In a reply dated 11th June, Lankester thinks the paper sufficiently important for the Philosophical Transactions. It is the result of several years work by the most accomplished naturalists. Thinks the plates will cost more than £65 if executed as they must be, in first rate style. He would estimate £120.
