TitleReferee's report by Charles Galton Darwin, on a paper 'The general proof of certain fundamental equations in the theory of metallic conduction' by Harry Jones and Clarence Zener
Date[September 1933]
DescriptionSectional Committee: Mathematics

Not recommended for publication in the 'Proceedings of the Royal Society of London'. Provides a report for forwarding, with his name, to the authors and communicator John Edward Lennard-Jones. If the paper is resubmitted a new referee should be sought and the authors notified of this. Is happy to correspond directly with the authors.

Finds the conclusions not fully established. Provides thorough criticism of the mathematical method. States that the criticism was 'written in the hope of improving a piece of work with which I have every sympathy'.
