TitleReferee's report by William Benjamin Carpenter, on a paper 'On the anatomy and physiology of the spongiadae.—Part III. On the generic characters, the specific characters, and on the method of examination' by James Scott Bowerbank
Date23 October 1862
DescriptionRecommended for publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'. Has not seen the second part, but is not sure if this title should form part of the series, or if the second part formed a satisfactory conclusion. If the current paper had appeared on its own, it would not have been recommended for publication, but as the paper is part of an already-published series, there is o hesitation in recommending publication. Suggests a change to the wording of the title, and suggests that this part not be printed until after publication of the anatomical and physiological parts of the series.
