TitleReferee's report by John Edward Lennard-Jones, on a paper 'Exchange of energy between diatomic gas molecules and a solid surface' by J M Jackson and A Howarth
Date[February 1935]
DescriptionSectional Committee: Mathematics

Recommended for publication in the 'Proceedings of the Royal Society of London', but is doubtful about this opinion. The mathematical problem solved by the authors bears little relation to the physical problem. The mathematics used is only a crude interpretation of physical facts. Suggests the authors modify the paper for the mathematics to more closely resemble the physical facts.
