Title | Referee's report by Ernest William MacBride, on a paper 'On the phylogeny of the Ammonite family Liparoceratidae' by Leonard Frank Spath |
Date | [May 1936] |
Description | Sectional Committee: Geology
Not recommended for publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'. Does not claim to be an expert in palaeontology. There is interesting data for the geologist, but nothing of such value as to be published by the Royal Society. There is great 'revolutionary ' value in the assertions on the inner coils and growth of Ammonites 'which if properly supported by Evidence would be of fundamental importance to Zoology and Palaeontology'. If his assertions are correct they 'would be Epoch making'.
