Title | Referee's report and letter from Charles Galton Darwin, on two papers 'On the mechanism of boundary lubrication. I. The action of long-chain polar compounds' by Otto Beeck, J W Givens and A E Smith and 'On the mechanism of boundary lubrication. II. Wear prevention by addition agents' by Otto Beeck, J W Givens and E C Williams to Alfred Charles Glyn Egerton |
Date | 7 August 1940 |
Description | Sectional committee: Chemistry
There is no reason for suppressing the second paper, which should be communicated to Pye. Paper one is 'rather thin and even doubtful', but paper two is important and interesting. The papers should be passed. Apologises for keeping them so long, but wanted Sykes to see them.
[Both papers published in Proceedings of the Royal Society A, 1940].
