TitleReferee's report by Edward Arthur Milne, on a paper 'The thermal equilibrium at the tropopause and the temperature of the lower stratosphere' by R M Goody
Date[1948]
DescriptionSectional Committee: Physics

Not recommended for publication in the 'Proceedings of the Royal Society of London'. Suggests omitting some of the more obscure figures. Finds the paper too long for the Proceedings, and not of a style fitting the Philosophical Transactions. Finds the paper more suitable for the Quarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society. Refers to work of Gold and Emden. The calculations are of a crude character.

Appended letter, from E G Miline [?], to Martin, dated 12 February 1949. Finds the present draft of the paper to be an improvement, and meets some of his earlier criticisms, and is now suitable for publication i the Proceedings. Comments on the symbols used in the calculations. Endorsed on recto as received 14 February 1949.
