TitleReferee's report by Morgan William Crofton, on a paper ' On clairautian functions and equations' by Allan Cunningham
Date25 October 1877
DescriptionNot recommended for publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'. The paper does not form a real practical or methodological advance. Considers the paper to be a 'mathematical curiosity'. The subject is more suited to a specialised mathematical journal. If it were to be published by the Royal Society, suggests the Proceedings as a suitable place, with the addition of the abstract and note by the other referee. Even then, would still recommend the paper be returned to the author for shortening.
