TitleDetailed referee's report by Henry James Whitbread Lee Glaisher, on a paper ' On clairautian functions and equations' by Allan Cunningham
Date10 August 1877
DescriptionRecommended for publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society', but only after some hesitation. Suggests the addition of an explanatory introduction. Suggests a few of the solutions should be worked out in full, to provide detail and clarity. Has supplied a few references that had been omitted. If the author was resident in England, would suggest they be asked to provide an introduction and make other modifications. Due to the length of the paper it is not suitable for the Proceedings.

As regards printing, some of the notation is rarely used by Taylor & Francis, and does not print well. Suggests the use of alternate notation, which may come in useful for future publications. As many of the terms placed by the author in inverted commas are well-recognised, suggests omitting the inverted commas.
