NotesMary Somervile (1780-1872) was a renowned science writer with a particular interest in mathematics. She married twice, both men being her cousins. Her first marriage was to Greig and her son Woronzow Grieg was elected a Fellow in 1817. Her second marriage was to William Somerville who was elected a Fellow in 1817.
