NotesPhotocopy of memoir of Ardaseer Cursetjee, a naval architect in India who became interested in marine steam engines there before travelling to England and America for further study. Elected an Associate of the Institute of Civil Engineers on 24 March 1840. He returned to India in 1841 and took charge of the steam branch of the Navy, becoming the first Indian to be placed over Europeans. He introduced many new engineering ideas and machines into India.
