Toured Europe (1748-1750) with Thomas Hollis (FRS 1757), who left Brand his fortune, stipulating that he should take the name Hollis (name changed 1774); Hollis left his estate of Corscombe, Devon, to him; he bequeathed both Corscombe and his own house the Hyde, Ingatestone, Essex, to the father of John Disney (FRS 1832)
