Unpublished letter, regarding the shape of electric conductors from Prince [Nikolai Borisovich] Galitzin to unknown recipient Prince Galitzin discusses the most effective shape for the end of electric conductors placed on buildings. Galitzin discusses proposals by various scientists and recounts his own experiments using batteries, bottles, and electrometers, deducing that a pointed end to a conductor is the most effective. He then explains the best place to put an electric conductor at Rosendael Castle in Gueldres [Guelders; now located near present-day Arnhem, Netherlands]. Includes one figure within text as well as a separate plate. An ink inscription at top of first page reads 'By Prince Galitzin' and below in pencil 'no date'. Subject: Physics [early 19th century]
