Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 4 of Abstracts of the Papers Printed in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London [later Proceedings of the Royal Society] as 'Meteorological Register kept at Port Arthur, Van Diemen’s Land [Tasmania; Lutruwita or Truwana], during the year 1838, and Register of Tides at Port Arthur, from August 1838 to July 1839, both inclusive' [attributed to  Arthur Reid Lempiere].</dc:description>
