Unpublished observations, taken with astronomical brass quadrant by Rev Mr Smith Astronomical observations taken from the top of a church with an astronomical brass quadrant fitted with telescopes and a micrometer for measuring seconds of a degree. A Dollond acromatic object glass telescope of 3 1/2 feet was also used. The objective of these observations was to determine the latitude and longitude of Madras [Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India].
