Unpublished letter, on de Valangin's paper from George Ellis Petch to the Secretary of the Royal Society In this covering letter, George Ellis Petch introduces de Valangin's paper and states that he offers no comment on its contents. He says that de Valangin reported that Hierschell [William Herschel] approved of its content. He apologises for the state of the manuscript but states that it arrived in his hands in this state.
