University Challenge - The Professionals. The Royal Society team Royal Society team made up of academics who are beneficiaries of Royal Society grants taking part in the 'University Challenge ' programme broadcast on 14 April 2003 against a team from the Royal Institute of British Architects The team consists of Dr Mike Towler ( atheoretical physicist from the Cavendish Labortory in Cambridge); Dr HArriet McWatters (a plant scientist from the University of Oxford); Dr Martin Castell (a materials scientist from the University of Oxford), all of whom are Royal Society University Reseerch Fellows. The team captain is the bio-scientist Professor Bob Mitchell FRS, a Royal Society Research Professor at the University of Birmingham 14 April 2003
