<dc:title>Letter from Clements R [Robert] Markham, 21 Eccleston Square, to Sir William Huggins </dc:title>
<dc:description>Markham wishes to arrange a conference between the officers of two societies [the Royal Society and the Royal Geographical Society] in early June, before the next meeting of the [Antarctic] Finance Committee. The conference should review the current financial position and agree on the content of the despatch being sent to Captain [Robert Falcon] Scott on the 'Morning'. The Royal Geographical Society Council has approved the conference and Markham has nominated [George] Sutherland McKenzie, [Edward Lygon Somers] Cocks and himself to attend. </dc:description>
