Letter from William Huggins, President of the Royal Society, to Dr [Karl] Pearson 'You will be pleased to know that at the meeting of Council on thursday Dr [Joseph] Larmor made the statement, which I gave in my letter of the 23rd, as to the reason of the withdrawal by Professor [Herbert Hall] Turner of his proposed motion. The Council decided that this statement should be enclosed in the Minutes so it will remain on record there for the guidance of future Secretaries. I need scarcely say how sorry I am, personally, that circumstances should have occurd to make this correspondence necessary.' 27 April 1902
