<dc:title>Copy letter from Sir James Dewar, to Sir Joseph John Thomson, OM, President of the Royal Society, Homleigh, West Road, Cambridge</dc:title>
<dc:description>Has no wish to continue 'this illusive correspondence', but protests that the reason Sir Joseph John Thomson wants to end the correspondence is because there are no signs of the two coming to an agreement. Argues that Thomson 'began the campaign of autocratic warfare on behalf of the Council by an attack on my [Dewar's] good name'. Suggests that Thomson has created a 'deadly mixed infection' in the atmosphere of the Royal Society, which must be 'killed out' so that 'English Science may remain pure and undefiled'. Comments on Thomson's actions, calls him hypocritical, and does not entertain the idea of an agreement between the two. Instructs that the whole correspondence is submitted to the Council.</dc:description>
