<dc:title>Copy letter from E. W. Hamilton, Treasury Chambers, to the Under Secretary of State of the Foreign Office</dc:title>
<dc:description>Informs the Foreign Office that the Royal Society advise that Great Britain should participate in the International Seismological Association [congress in Rome in October], provided France also joins. Proposes that unless they learn before 6 September that France will definitely not participate, they will send Professor [Arthur] Schuster to go to Rome as Great Britain's delegate. Consents for Great Britain to adhere to the International Seismological Association for a period of less than four years.</dc:description>
