<dc:title>Copy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society, to Professor [Owen Willans] Richardson</dc:title>
<dc:description>Informs Professor [Owen Willans] Richardson that his letter about the instrument [microphotometer] has been read to Council at their meeting. Informs him that Council thought the price was very high, and that [Ernest] Rutherford has devised an instrument that in his opinion achieves the same purpose at a much lower price, and that [Thomas Ralph] Merton is also building one. Asks that Richardson look into the matter of constructing the instrument for a lower price, before proceeding any further with his application. Advises him to write to Merton.</dc:description>
