Letter from [Henry Walter George] Cole, Controller General of the Exhibition Division, Department of Overseas Trade, to William Bate Hardy, Scientific and Industrial Research Department, Old Queen Street, S.W.1. Informs William Bate Hardy that he does not see how they [the Department of Overseas Trade] can send the Royal Society a definite letter confirming the money [for the British Empire Exhibition]. Notes that the Royal Society has a copy of the Minutes [CD/44/10] allocating £5000 towards a pure science exhibit, which still subject to any small final adjustments, but thinks it unlikely this amount will be reduced. 28 June 1923
