<dc:title>Letter from Arthur Keith, Royal College of Surgeons, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London, to Robert Harrison, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society</dc:title>
<dc:description>Thanks Robert Harrison for sending a copy of the conditions [CD/50/3] attached to [Peter Jeffrey] Mackie's offer to the Royal Society [of money for an anthropological expedition to Uganda]. Notes that the last condition can only be considered a wish, as the fund will cover the cost of the expedition, not the publication of results. Drafts a new condition No. 5, suggesting that [Reverend John] Roscoe will send reports back to the Royal Society, and that these reports are intended to be published in journals. Encloses a letter from Roscoe [CD/50/7] detailing the information about Uganda, the expedition, its expenses, and getting official sanction from the Colonial Office. Also encloses a letter from two years ago [CD/50/8] addressed to the Secretary of State for the Colonies, signed by 116 men, asking for the government to create a special post for Roscoe in British Central Africa. </dc:description>
