Copy letter from Edwin Deller, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society, to Sir Peter [Jeffrey] Mackie, [Mackie & Company Distillers Ltd.] 217 West George Street, Glasgow Informs Sir Peter Mackie that they have looked through Mr. [John] Roscoe's letters, and have spoken to Sir James Frazer, but can find no mention of the discovery of oil in Uganda. Also informs him that they have written to the Colonial Office asking them to expedite Roscoe's homeward journey [from Uganda]. 8 October 1920
