<dc:title>Letter from Peter [Jeffrey] Mackie, Corraith, Symington, by Kilmarnock, to Edwin Deller, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society</dc:title>
<dc:description>Asks to cancel his previous refusal to the Anniversary Dinner on 30 November, as he will now be in London after all (to receive HRH the Duke of York visiting the Licensed Victuallers Schools). Thereby accepts the Royal Society's kind invitation to the Anniversary Dinner. Is glad that Mr [John] Roscoe will be present. Alerts the Royal Society to today's 'Daily Mail', which has a big account of Roscoe's 'wonderful discoveries [in Uganda] which are creating such wide interest'. Asks if it would be possible for the Royal Society to extend the Anniversary Dinner invitation to Mackie's Managing Director, Mr E. Allen Box.</dc:description>
