Copy letter from William Bate Hardy, Secretary of the Royal Society, to the Reverend John Roscoe Asks John Roscoe to think about the following: that when a paper appears in the records of the Royal Society as having been read but does not subsequently appear in publications, the inference is that the paper has been rejected for publication. Does not want to have 'that puzzle in the Society's records in connection with your [Roscoe's] work for the future historians to ponder over'. Thinks that something of Roscoe's paper should appear in the [Philosophical] Transactions or Proceedings. Asks if Roscoe could put together a sketch of his doings and chief results for this, and add a few illustrations to the report to increase its interest. 11 February 1921
