Letter from John William Strutt, 3rd Baron Rayleigh, Terling Place, Witham, Essex, to [Michael Foster] Rayleigh has not followed recent discussions on colour vision and therefore he is not aware of the change in opinion referred to by Edridge Green. The late committee was familiar with the facts and he states that Green did not appear to understand one important side of the question. He would not recommend the appointment of a committee but the Society should be guided by Mr. Abney. 20 May 1900
