Treasury Council has considered Sir George Murray's letter of 14 December, aided by a report from the Director of the National Physical Laboratory. Council has adopted its estimates, and expenses will accrue from 1 July. The Eskdalemuir Observatory will be vested in the Office of Works, with the Royal Society responsible for internal maintenance only.
