<dc:title>Draft letter, Secretary of the Royal Society, Burlington House, to the Under Secretary of State, Colonial Office</dc:title>
<dc:description>Noting the importance of scientific work being conducted in the southern hemisphere, in particular relating to the International Star Catalogue, which the Royal Society has subsidized. These financial subsidies are in danger of being wasted. The instruments and staff of Perth Observatory are well suited to taking the necessary observations and the Society urges the Government of Western Australia, if they cannot carry on the observatory, then it should at least ensure the completion of the catalogue. </dc:description>
