<dc:title>Copy letter from Robert Traill Omond, Honorary Secretary, Scottish Meteorological Society, 122 George Street, Edinburgh, to [William Napier Shaw] the Secretary, Meteorological Council, 63 Victoria Street, London</dc:title>
<dc:description>Following the report of the Meteorological Grant Committee, the Society wrote to the Treasury asking that the grant of £350 per annum recommended for the Ben Nevis Observatories be supplemented by an additional £600. The Treasury declined and therefore it has been decided to cease observations at the Ben Nevis and Fort William Observatories from 1 October. The self-recording instruments are the property of the Meteorological Council and Omond asks for instructions on their future. </dc:description>
