<dc:title>Letter from Charles Edward Fagan, British Museum (Natural History), Cromwell Road, London, to the Secretary, the Royal Society</dc:title>
<dc:description>The Trustees of the Museum have been in communication with the Colonial Office in reference to the project for the establishment of an Anglo-Swedish scientific station at Graham Land in Antarctica. Council of the Royal Society had agreed a grant of £500 and had nominated Professors J. Stanley Gardiner and E. W. MacBride to represent the Society on the British Committee. Conditions have changed because of the War: the Government of the Falkland Islands and the Royal Geographical Society have withdrawn their co-operation and therefore the Trustees have resolved not to proceed with the project, The Swedish Committee will be informed. </dc:description>
