Letter from Sir Peter Jeffrey Mackie, the Highland Hotel, Strathpeffer, to William Bate Hardy Hardy's letter has been forwarded. In view of the donations already offered, together with scarcity of money and trouble with the coal strike, he does not feel justified in taking on the whole expense of the expedition.
