<dc:title>Paper, 'The operation of a hernia scrotalis occasioned by the omentum and the apendix [appendix] coeci perforated by a needle incrusted with chalk in its blunt end' by [Claude] Amyand</dc:title>
<dc:description>Amyand describes an 11-year-old boy who was admitted to St George's Hospital [London] for an operation to treat a scrotal hernia and a fistula between the scrotum and thigh. Amyand describes the operation in detail, and the boy was found to have a stone-encrusted pin in his gut in addition to the hernia. Amyand also provides four sets of observations of other patients with scrotal ruptures and abdominal punctures. Second copy of manuscript found at CLP/12ii/70.
