Paper, 'A true relation of an accident that befell John Stevenson three months before King Charles went into Spain' by John Stevenson Stevenson describes an incident in which he accidentally swallowed a five-inch bodkin that remained in his stomach for six weeks, giving him very little trouble until it reached his intestines, where it caused constant pain. It ultimately worked its way through his entire digestive system, and he survived. Includes a description of Theodore de Mayerne's prescription for Stevenson's pain.
