<dc:title>Translated paper, 'Explication of the astronomical instrument, contrived by Signore Burattini in Poland' by Burattini</dc:title>
<dc:description>Burattini describes an instrument consisting of a brass plate with two blades parallel to one another, 'each with seven brass nailes and beaten as much forward as backward; but before they are fastened, the blades must be hollowed'. The instrument also consists of 'two drawers [...] whose jonitures [jointures] enter exactly into the joniture of the two blades'. The instrument can be used to find the diameter of the planets. For original Italian paper, see CLP/8i/12.
