Minutes of the last meeting were read

Letter from Captian Kater read, suggesting the expanding of the Committee recommending to the Coujncil that a propoer apparatus be ordered for ascertaining the electrical states of the atmosphere as connected with the meteorological observations.

Letter from John Lubbock Esq. VP, Treasurer RS  and member of this Committee read recommending that the offer of the Astronomer Royal to superintend the meteorological Observations at Greenwich be accepted.

Letter read from Dr Roget Secretary RS containing the resolutions of the Council of the 20 January as far as regards this committee.
