Dr Pierre Auger, Head of the Natural Sciences Division of UNESCO attended by invitation. Matters discussed; 27. Minutes of last meeting held on 25 May 1948 were confirmed. 28. Arising from the minutes of 25 May 1948 (i) Scientific Documentation (ii) Hylean Amazon (iii) Public Relations of the British Committeee (iv) Dr Needham's Report (v) International Scientific Unions (vi) 3rd General Conference of Unesco (vii) International Research Laboratories 29. Address by Dr Auger Dr Auger, head of the Natural Sciences Section of UNESCO, spoke on the work of the Natural Sciences Section during the coming year. He said that the greatest assistance which the National Committees could affort UNESCO was to give cler and definite instructions to the delegates to geneal conferences. Where a clear programme had been given action had usually been effective. He dealt with two main items; (i) Field Science Co-operation Officers (ii) Grants-in-aid Policy 30.
