Appendix to Minutes of a meeting of the Joint Permanent Eclipse Committee ' Copy of a letter dated 3 May 1968 from Dr G Henderson, Department of Physics, Heriot-Watt University, Chambers Street, Edinburgh 1, to the Secretary of the Joint Permanent Eclipse Committee, Professor C W Allen I have been reconsidering the proposed eclipse expedition and I now feel that the high prospects of good viewing conditions in the Tehuantepec region justify the use of one observing site only thus enabling costs to be kept down. I therefore would like to propose one three-man team to spend 30 days in the field, the aim being to be set up for tests on the full moon prior to eclipse.
