Minutes of meeting held on 15 March 1939 confirmed 2. Receipt of a letter was reported from Professor Whittaker regretting his inability to accept the Editorship of the Newton correspondence. After discussion it was unanimously agreed to recommend that Professor H C Plummer be appointed Editor of the Newton correspondence. The Chairman undertook to write to the Secretaries explaining the reasons for the Committee's decision. 23 May 1939
