Minute of Council of 15 June 1876 read; ' Resolved, - That the Exlipse Committee be authorized to arrange with Mr Meldola, and the Treasurer to pay him for his services as may be determined. ' Letters form Mr Meldola to the Secretary and Treasurer read. Resolved, ' that the Council be recommended to pay £50 to Mr Meldola for his time on the Eclipse Expedition. Also a bill of £2.18.0 to Messrs Clay& Sone for printing the instructions for the Expedition.' 22 June 1876
